Surgery for Your Dog or Cat By Experienced Veterinarians

The Veterinary Surgery Service at LVS offers a comprehensive range of advanced knowledge, technical skills and experience for your animals. The surgical suites are equipped with the latest in modern surgical instrumentation along with advanced monitoring capabilities to insure both the success of the surgery and the safety of your pet. The expertise of our surgeons covers a variety of surgical procedures including soft-tissue, orthopedic and neurosurgery.

Consultations and surgeries are scheduled weekly but in the event of an emergency, the staff surgeons are always available, 24/7.   If your pet is scheduled for a procedure, you will be given instructions on how to prepare for the day of surgery and the time to arrive at the hospital.  A surgical nurse will take your cat or dog to be prepped for surgery by our experienced vets.  After the surgery is completed, your pet will be turned over to the critical care service where he or she will be monitored by a doctor and nurse constantly throughout the day and night.  The on-call surgeon will speak to you after the procedure.

In the event of an emergency, your animal will be first seen by the emergency and critical care team. They will triage your pet and then advise you of their assessment. Once this is done you will be advised on how best to proceed.  It is our policy to allow you to visit your pet at any time of day or night and our doctors and nurses are happy to give you updates on the medical status by phone.  If you care to stay on the premises while the vet performs surgery, our comfortable waiting room is equipped with a coffee/tea machine, a television and wifi connection.
