FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists, a specialty and emergency hospital for pets in South Florida, opened a brand new, state-of-the-art physical therapy and rehabilitation center recently.
Pets that have had surgery performed, endured a traumatic injury, or are suffering from conditions like arthritis or obesity, are now able to receive physical therapy at the new rehabilitation center at Lauderdale Veterinary Specialists.
The space includes a hydro-therapy/water treadmill, a gait analyzer treadmill, and a dry treadmill, as well as other equipment used in physical therapy for dogs and cats.
“Our goal by building this physical therapy and rehabilitation center is to supplement the other specialty services offered at LVS, while hopefully helping patients to regain the same quality of life they enjoyed before their injury or ailment,” said Dr. Ira Zaslow, a board-certified veterinary emergency and critical care specialist, and founder of LVS. “Studies have shown that just like with humans, pets that undergo physical therapy during their recovery process, see a much better return to normal gait function and locomotion.”
